Hey folks, I like these two grazing platters because they break the norm of fruit, vegetables, and crackers. These are grazing platters that I would enjoy seeing at a party and I would eat. I like how similar foods are grouped together and the colours blend together well. There is a variety of textures - soft and hard, and I imagine the smell would make my mouth water.
When I make a grazing platter I'm basing mine around the concept of an Aussie Summer Day. It will include watermelon, pineapple, and lemon. The hard green outer skin of the watermelon covers the sweet reddish pink inside. When you cut open a watermelon, one of the first things you notice is the seeds, unless you have a seedless one. Cutting it open or biting it will cause it to release its inner juices. When you buy a pineapple you will notice its spikey skin, which will be removed when you cut it up. Once cut open you will notice the inside is a firm yellow colour. I haven't tasted it but I've been told it can be very tangy or sweet. Lemons are none for being a very sour fruit but we make lemonade out of it so it must have some good qualities. But when you buy one, you will notice it has a tough skin, and when you cut it open you will notice some juice will come out and you will see it is made up of segmented sour sections. I recommend not biting into one but using a juicer to get the juice out. Some people do like eating them, for example, 2 of my nephews, but I don't recommend it.
